Before You Begin
Only admins and cycle owners can create calibration sessions.
The Calibration step must be added to the workflow in Step 5: Work Flow before the cycle launches.
Whether calibrators can adjust scores — manager score, overall score, or both — is controlled by the cycle configuration. Confirm what adjustments are permitted before the session.
AI Summary is available by default in all calibration sessions. No additional setup is required.
What Calibration Is For
The Calibration step gives admins and cycle owners a space to review talent scores alongside full performance context before the cycle closes. Calibrators can compare scores across team members, read AI-generated talent summaries, and depending on the cycle configuration adjust a talent's manager score or overall score.
Creating a Calibration Session
If no sessions exist yet, the Calibration page shows "No Calibration Session Yet."
Go to the Performance Management module and select Calibration from the left navigation.
Click New Session.
In the Create New Calibration Session modal, enter a Session Name.
Select the Cycle this session applies to from the dropdown.
Use the filter options to narrow the talent list by department, role, division, or other criteria.
Check the boxes next to the talents you want to include in this session.
Click Create Session.
The session appears in the Calibration Sessions list. Click it to open the calibration workspace.
Inside a Calibration Session
The calibration workspace has a Talents panel on the left listing all team members in the session. Click any talent to load their detail in the main area.
Score Details
The Score Details section shows the talent's score broken down by component for example, Goals, Competencies, and Appraisals. These figures are read-only and give calibrators a clear view of how the overall score was reached.
Review Breakdown
The Review Breakdown section shows scores broken down by individual item within each component. This is also read-only. It helps calibrators understand exactly what drove the score in each area before making any adjustments.
AI Summary
Each talent has an AI Summary generated automatically from the cycle data. The summary gives calibrators a narrative overview of the talent's performance without having to read through every individual score and comment. AI Summary is always available inside calibration sessions no toggle required.
Adjusting Scores
If the cycle configuration allows score adjustments, calibrators can override the Manager Score, the Overall Score, or both for a selected talent. The fields available for adjustment depend on what was configured in the cycle setup.
⚠️ Warning: Adjusted scores override the system-calculated values and carry forward into the cycle results. Confirm the adjustment before moving to the next talent.
Activity Log
The Activity Log records every change made during a calibration session including score adjustments, who made them, and when. Use it to review the full history of changes and maintain an audit trail for the calibration process.
