What Is Performance Management in Lumofy?
Performance Management in Lumofy is a structured tool that allows admins to design, run, and analyze employee review processes from a single place. It covers the full cycle from building a review structure and launching it across the organization, to collecting reviews, tracking progress, calibrating scores, and generating final results.
At the center of the system is the Performance Cycle: a time-bound review period that defines who is being reviewed, what they are reviewed on, and how the review process flows.
Where to Find Performance Management
In the left sidebar, click Performance. This expands to two sub-pages:
Cycles — where all performance cycles live. This is where you create, monitor, and manage review cycles
Goals — an organization-wide view of all goals across active cycles, covering both talent-level and department-level goals
The Cycles List
The Cycles page is your main control panel for performance cycles. From here you can:
Search cycles by name
Filter by status or other criteria
Create a new cycle with + New Cycle
Monitor progress on active cycles
Each cycle appears as a card showing the cycle name, participant avatars, review period dates, and a status badge.
Cycle Statuses
Every performance cycle moves through the following statuses:
Status | What It Means |
Draft | Cycle created but configuration is not complete. Not yet visible to participants. The action button shows Complete Configurations. |
Upcoming | Cycle is fully configured and scheduled but the review period has not started yet. |
In Progress | The review period is active. Participants are filling in sheets, managers are reviewing, and the workflow is running. |
Completed | The cycle has ended and all results are finalized. |
What Is a Performance Cycle?
A performance cycle is the container for a complete review process. When you create a cycle, you define:
The cycle name and period — what it is called and when the review window opens and closes
Who is included — which talents, departments, or job roles are part of the cycle
What they are reviewed on — the components: Goals, Competencies, and Appraisals
How the review flows — the workflow stages: who reviews first, who approves, who acknowledges
How scores are calculated — the scoring formula and whether bell curve distribution applies
Once a cycle launches, each included talent receives a Performance Sheet their individual record for that cycle.
What Is a Performance Sheet?
A Performance Sheet is the individual record assigned to each talent within a cycle. It contains all the components defined in the cycle configuration and moves through the workflow stages you set up. Managers review it, admins can calibrate it, talents acknowledge it, and final scores are recorded on it.
Key Roles in Performance Management
Role | What They Can Do |
Super Admin | Full access create cycles, configure everything, calibrate, manage all sheets |
Admin | Create and manage cycles, monitor progress, access reports (depending on permission settings) |
Manager | Review their direct reports' sheets, run check-ins, add action items |
Talent | Complete their self-review, view their sheet, acknowledge final scores, raise appeals |
