Overview
A certification is a company-branded certificate that recognizes a Talent for completing a course or Development pathway. You design the certificate from a template, attach it to the learning item, and Talent receives it on completion. Certifications give Talent a record of their achievement and give your company a consistent, branded credential.
How Certifications Work
A certification moves through three stages:
Design: You start from a certificate template in Company Templates and customize its branding, content, and certificate type.
Attach: You attach a template to a course or pathway in its Certificate Setup step.
Issue: When Talent completes the learning item, the certificate is issued with their details filled in.
Certificate Types
Each template has a certificate type that sets the tone of the credential:
Appreciation: recognizes effort or participation.
Completion: confirms the Talent finished the course or pathway.
You choose the type when you customize the template.
What Appears on a Certificate
A certificate can show the Talent's details and the achievement, depending on which fields you turn on in the template. Available fields include the Lumofy logo, the company logo, the Talent's national ID, the course publisher, the issue date, the expiry date, and the number of hours. Each certificate also carries a QR code for verification.
📝 Note: Fields are turned on or off per template, so two templates can show different details for the same achievement.
Where Certifications Live
You manage certificate templates from Company > Company Templates. The Certifications tab holds certificate templates, and the Badges tab holds badge templates. Each template shows its language and whether it is Active.
