Live Sessions Overview

Understand the two types of sessions in Lumofy, how they work, and what admins can do with them

Written by Mohamed Shantory

Before You Start

  • You must be a Super Admin or an Admin with session management permissions

  • Sessions are managed under Develop → Sessions

Overview

Sessions in Lumofy are instructor-led learning events that sit outside Pathways and the Content Builder. They can be held online or on-site and are assigned directly to Talents. Admins create and manage all sessions Talents see only the sessions they are invited to, or that are open to all.

Two Types of Sessions

When you create a session, you choose one of two types:

Type

What it is

New Session

A live training event with one or more scheduled dates. Can be held online or on-site. Admins mark attendance after each session day.

Recorded Session

Pre-recorded content. The admin uploads a video file or adds a link. Invited Talents can watch it at any time.

Session Formats

Online vs. On-Site

Every session is configured as either Online or On-Site:

  • Online — the admin provides a link for Talents to join. Lumofy supports an external link or an integrated Whereby room.

  • On-Site — the admin enters a location name. The session card shows a View Location button so Talents know where to go.

Session Types

Each session is assigned a Session's Type during creation. Available types: Event, Webinar, Seminar, Program, and Certificate.

Multi-Day Sessions

A New Session can span multiple days. The admin adds each day separately each day has its own date, start time, and duration. On the session detail page, all days are listed under Session Days, each showing a status of Upcoming or Completed.

Session Views

Sessions are organised into two tabs in the Sessions list:

  • Upcoming sessions — sessions scheduled in the future

  • Past sessions — sessions that have already taken place

Each session card displays the session's setting (Online / On-Site), type (Event, Webinar, etc.), date, duration, language, and instructor.

What Admins Can Do

From Develop → Sessions:

  • Search sessions by name and filter by type or setting

  • Click + New Session to create a session

  • Configure a certificate for Talents who complete the session

What Talents See

  • View session details — date, time, language, and instructor

  • Click Join Now to open the session link (Online sessions)

  • Click View Location to see where to go (On-Site sessions)

  • Watch the recording (Recorded Sessions they are enrolled in)
