A course can be published in English, Arabic, or both languages at the same time
Overview
A Course is Lumofy's most comprehensive content type. It is organised into Modules, and each module holds multiple content items text, video, audio, interactive elements, and quizzes. Courses can be added to Pathways or assigned directly to Talents.
When you create a course you choose one of three approaches:

How to Create a Course
Go to Develop → Content Builder
Click Add New in the top right corner
Select Course from the dropdown
In the modal that appears, click Create with Content Builder
Step 1: Course Details
Fill in the course information in English:
Course's Name — the title Talents will see
Description — a summary of what the course covers
Objectives — add up to 40 learning objectives (one per line)
💡 Tip: If you want the course to be available in Arabic as well, click + Add Arabic Language at the bottom of this step. This opens a second set of fields where you enter the name, description, and objectives in Arabic. Talents will see the version that matches their language preference.
Click Next to continue.
Step 2: Content Builder
This is where you build the structure and content of your course.
Modules
A course is organised into one or more Modules. Think of each module as a chapter. A default module is created automatically you can rename it and add more modules as needed.
Drag the handle (⠿) to reorder modules
Click the ⋮ menu on a module to rename or delete it
Content Items
Inside each module, drag items from the Content Building Items panel on the right into the module area.
Basic Items
Text — rich text blocks for written content
Video — embed or upload video content
Audio — upload audio files
Interactive Items
Flipping Card — front/back card for concepts or vocabulary
Accordion — expandable sections for layered information
Steps — numbered sequential steps
List — structured list of items
Tabs — tabbed content panels
Light Box — image with zoom/overlay capability
Hotspot — image with clickable marked areas
I-Frame — embed external web content
Drag and Drop — interactive matching or sorting activity
Quiz — knowledge check questions within the course
📝 Note: You can add a Quiz inside a course module. Assessments (Pre/Post) are a separate type and are not added inside a course they are configured at the Pathway level.
💡 Tip: Click Preview (top right of the builder) at any time to see how the course looks from a Talent's perspective.
Step 3: Course Configuration
Set the course specifications, competencies, resources, and appearance.
Specifications
Level — difficulty level of the course (e.g., Beginner, Intermediate)
Duration — estimated completion time in minutes
Accreditation Type (optional) — the type of accreditation this course provides
Accreditation Units (optional) — number of accreditation units
Issue a certificate upon completion — toggle this on if you want Talents to receive a certificate when they finish the course. Certificates are based on your organisation's certificate templates configured in Company Settings.
Competencies (optional)
Select the competencies this course develops. Linked competencies appear on the course card and help Talents understand what skills they will build.
Categories (optional)
Assign the course to one or more categories. Categories help Talents find content through search and browsing.
Resources (optional)
Attach supporting materials Talents can access alongside the course:
Links — add URLs to external resources
Files — upload PDF, Word, or Excel files (multi-upload supported, max 10 MB per file)
Cover (optional)
Upload a thumbnail image to make the course visually recognisable in the content library. Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, or SVG. Max file size: 2 MB.
Branding
Set the Primary Color displayed to Talents when they view this course. Choose Default to use your organisation's brand colour, or select Custom to pick a specific colour for this course.
Publishing Your Course
At the bottom of Step 3, you have two options:
Save as Draft — saves the course without making it visible to Talents. You can return and continue editing at any time.
Next — proceeds to confirm and publish the course, making it available to assign to Talents or add to Pathways.
⚠️ Note: A course must be published before it can be added to a Pathway or assigned directly to Talents.

Yes. In Step 1, click + Add Arabic Language to add a second set of course details in Arabic. Talents will see the version matching their language setting.

Can I add a quiz inside a course?
Yes. Drag a Quiz item into any module in Step 2. Note that this is different from Pathway-level assessments (Pre/Post Assessment), which are configured at the Pathway level, not inside individual courses.
What types of files can I attach as Resources?

PDF, Word (.docx), and Excel (.xlsx) files. Each file can be up to 10 MB, and you can upload multiple files at once.
