Overview
A Course is a structured learning module built from a set of content items such as videos, text, and flipping cards, designed to build specific knowledge. Courses are created and managed in the Content Builder and can be delivered to Talents on their own or as part of a Development Pathway. Alongside Kits, Guides, and Bites, Courses are the largest content type you can build yourself in Lumofy.
Where Courses Live
Courses are managed under Develop → Content Builder, together with the other content types you can build: Bites, Guides, and Kits. The Content Builder list shows each item's name, type, language, and status.
From this page you can:
Use the Search by item's name field and Filters to find an item
Click Content Providers to browse content from external providers connected to your account
Click Add New to create a new content item
Use the three-dot menu on any row to manage an existing item
Ways to Create a Course
When you create a new course, Lumofy asks how you want to build it. The Select How You Want to Create Your Course modal offers three options:
Create with Content Builder: build your course directly in Lumofy using interactive content types like videos, text, and more, all organized into flexible micro-learning modules
Import a SCORM: upload an existing course package in SCORM format. Lumofy handles the setup so you can start tracking learner progress instantly
Start with a Template: choose a ready-made course structure to save time, then customize it fully to fit your learning goals
💡 Tip: Use Import a SCORM when your organization already has courses built in an external authoring tool. Use Start with a Template when you want a proven structure without building from scratch.
Course Languages
A course can be created in Arabic, English, or both (Arabic & English). The language appears in the Language column of the Content Builder list, and Talents see the course in the language it was built in.
Course States
A course can be in one of two states:
State | What it means |
Draft | The course is saved but not visible to Talents. You can continue editing it |
Published | The course is live and can be assigned to or discovered by Talents |
How Courses Connect to the Platform
Development Pathways Courses can be added to Milestones inside a Development Pathway, making them building blocks of larger development journeys. A course can also be delivered on its own.
Other content types Courses sit alongside Bites (short-form content), Guides (written articles), and Kits (shared training files) in the Content Builder. Use a course when the topic needs a structured, multi-part learning experience.
Content Providers In addition to courses you create yourself, your catalog can include courses from external providers connected to your Lumofy account.
Talents Published courses reach Talents through assignment by Admins or Managers, or through Pathways they are enrolled in.

A course is a structured, multi-part learning module. A Bite is a short-form video, a Guide is a written article, and a Kit is a training file shared with Talents. Use a course when the topic needs depth and sequence.
Can the same course appear in more than one Pathway?
Can the same course appear in more than one Pathway?
Yes. A course is an independent content item and can be reused across multiple Pathways.
Can Talents see a course while it is in Draft?

No. Draft courses are visible only in the Content Builder. Talents see a course only after it is Published.
What is SCORM?
What is SCORM?
SCORM is a standard format for packaging e-learning content. If your courses were built in an external authoring tool, you can export them as SCORM and import them into Lumofy with progress tracking included.
