Before You Start

  • You must be a Super Admin or an Admin

  • Leaderboard data appears only after Talents have started learning activity, since rankings are based on the XP points they earn

Overview

The Leaderboard ranks Talents by the XP points they earn from learning activity across the platform. It gives Admins a quick view of who is most engaged, how much time Talents spend learning, and how many Development Pathways they complete. Talents see the Leaderboard from their side as well, which adds a competitive layer to learning.

Opening the Leaderboard

1- From the left sidebar, under Tools, click Leaderboard

2- The podium at the top highlights the top five Talents, each with their avatar, name, level, and position

3- The full ranking table appears below the podium

Reading the Leaderboard Table

Each row shows one Talent with the following columns:

  • Position: the Talent's current rank, with a trend indicator next to it. A green arrow means the Talent moved up, a red arrow means they moved down, and a dash means no change

  • Name: the Talent's name and job role

  • Learning Time: total hours spent on learning content

  • Completed Pathways: number of Development Pathways the Talent has completed

  • Level: the Talent's engagement level badge

  • Points: total XP earned

📝 Note: Talents with the same number of points share the same position. You may see several Talents ranked first if their XP is equal.

How XP and Levels Work

Talents earn XP through learning and performance activity across the platform. As XP accumulates, Talents progress through five engagement levels shown as badges in the Level column.

Click How XP Works at the top of the Leaderboard to open the Employee Engagement System modal, which explains how points are earned and how Talents advance through levels.

How to Earn Points

Talents earn XP when they complete assigned learning and activities. Pathway points depend on the pathway's length:

Activity

Points

360 Reviews

50 XP per review type (Peers, Self, Manager, and Upward)

Reviews (Appraisal)

30 XP per review

Assessments

50 XP per assessment

Quiz

25 XP per quiz

Goal Review

20 XP per review

Courses

125 XP per course

Short Pathway (1-5 hrs)

250 XP

Medium Pathway (5-10 hrs)

350 XP

Extended Pathway (15-25 hrs)

450 XP

Engagement Levels

As XP points accumulate, Talents advance through five engagement levels:

Level

Points Range

Newcomer

0 - 250

Explorer

251 - 500

Engaged

501 - 2000

Champion

2001 - 8000

Legend

8001 and above

The modal also summarizes the benefit for Admins: track talent engagement, identify high performers, and spot Talents who may need additional support or encouragement in their learning journey.

💡 Tip: Use the Level column rather than raw XP to compare engagement across teams. Levels normalize progress into stages that are easier to communicate.

Searching, Filtering, and Exporting

1- Use the Search by talent's name field to find a specific Talent

  • Levels: filter by engagement level, from Newcomer to Legend

  • Criteria: filter by the source of points, such as 360 performance assessments, performance management reviews, assessments, quizzes, pathways, and courses

  • Timeline: limit the ranking to a period: last 7 days, last 15 days, last month, last quarter, last year, current month, this quarter, this year, or a custom range

3- Within each category, use the search field or select the checkboxes, then click Apply. Click Cancel to close the panel without applying

4- Click Reset to clear all active filters

5- Click Export to download the leaderboard data for reporting or further analysis outside Lumofy

💡 Tip: Combine the Timeline and Criteria filters to answer specific questions, such as which team earned the most points from pathways this quarter.

FAQs

Why do several Talents share the same position?

Positions are based on XP points. Talents with equal points share the same rank.

Can Talents see the Leaderboard?

Yes. Talents have a Leaderboard entry in their top navigation, so they can see where they stand. This is part of what makes the Leaderboard a motivation tool.

What do the trend arrows next to positions mean?

They compare the Talent's current rank with their previous one: green means they moved up, red means they moved down, and a dash means no change.
