Common Scenarios at a Glance
Symptom | Likely Cause | Fix |
User sees Talent view despite being Admin | User Permission is set to Talent | Edit user → change User Permission to Admin |
Manager can't access appraisals | Appraisals group doesn't include Manager | Roles & Permissions → Appraisals → add Manager |
Admin can't create content | Content Creation group doesn't include Admin | Roles & Permissions → Content Creation → add Admin |
Talent can access admin features | User Permission incorrectly set to Admin | Edit user → change User Permission to Talent |
Job Role vs. User Permission
These two fields are often confused:
Field | What It Means |
Job Role (on the talent profile) | The user's job title in the organization (e.g., Marketing Specialist). Does not affect platform access. |
User Permission (on the talent profile) | The user's access level in Lumofy (Admin, Talent, etc.). Controls what they can see and do. |
Changing a user's Job Role has no effect on what they can access in Lumofy. User Permission is what controls access.
