Viewing Skill & Competency Progress

How to read your competency ratings, understand rating levels, and track your skill development progress over time on the Competencies Development page.

Written by Mohamed Shantory

Overview

Lumofy tracks your skill and competency level across every competency assigned to you. Your current rating and how it has changed over time is visible from two places: the My Competencies section on your dashboard, and the full Competencies Development page.

My Competencies on the Dashboard

The My Competencies section on your home screen shows a summary card for each assigned competency. Each card displays:

  • Competency name — the skill being tracked (e.g., Financial Reporting, Critical Thinking)

  • Current rating — your most recent level (e.g., Skilled, Expert, Super Expert)

  • Action buttons — shortcuts to develop or assess that competency

This gives you a quick snapshot without leaving the dashboard. Click View All to open the full Competencies Development page.

The Competencies Development Page

Go to My Performance in the top navigation and select Competencies Development, or click View All from the dashboard section.

This page lists all competencies assigned to you in the current cycle, organized by cluster group.

Reading Your Rating Levels

Each competency card shows your current rating level. Levels progress from lowest to highest:

  • Develop — no assessment taken yet, or starting level

  • Skilled — foundational competency demonstrated

  • Expert — strong proficiency demonstrated

  • Super Expert — advanced mastery demonstrated

  • Top Level Achieved — you have reached the highest possible rating for this competency

Your rating updates automatically after each completed assessment. The date of your next available assessment may also appear on the card when a cooldown period applies.

Understanding Competency Clusters

Competencies are grouped into clusters categories that reflect related skills. For example, all finance-related competencies might appear under one cluster, while leadership skills appear under another.

Clusters help you see where your strengths are concentrated and where development opportunities exist.

Tracking Progress Over Time

Each time you complete a talent assessment, your rating is recalculated and updated on the card. Over successive assessments you can see your level rise from Skilled through to Expert and Super Expert.

If a competency shows Next Assessment on [date], it means a cooldown period applies and you must wait until that date before retaking the assessment.

Developing a Competency

Each competency card includes a Develop button. Clicking it takes you to the related learning content courses and pathways linked to that competency so you can build your skills before retaking the assessment.

FAQ

Why do some of my competency cards show no rating?

Cards without a rating label mean you have not yet taken the assessment for that competency. Click Take Assessment to begin.

Can I see my previous ratings, not just the current one?

Your current card shows your latest rating. Detailed assessment history may be visible inside your performance sheet depending on your cycle configuration.
